Considering special conditions of the place which the crane would be setup, there are variety of designations to connect end carriage to the girder to achieve maximum hook level.

Regarding to the top wins and losses it could be understood that single girder overhead cranes could be a good choice for capacities lower than 16 ton and spans smaller than 22 meter. However, single girder hoists are available up to 25 ton, but overhead cranes with capacities above 16 ton would not be economical and could be offered just for special cases.
